New Comic Book Day - 31st Dec 2015

It seems like the last days of the year are a perfect time to start our weekly series of posts for New Comic Book Day (#NCBD) - For this and next week the bank holidays mean new books are being released Thursday rather than Wednesday - Normal service resumes for books releasing Wednesday 13th January 2016.

Once again just a quick thanks for all the support we have received at CGC since opening - It really is appreciated and we are striving to reward that enthusiasm with lots of exciting events and releases coming up in January and the rest 2016.

This week the Deadpool onslaught begins (Anyone would think they are releasing a film in the near future!) with Deadpool & Cable - That and other highlights from this week are listed below: 

DEADPOOL AND CABLE SPLIT SECOND #1 (OF 3)

Call them a duo with a special kind of dynamics...call them the odd couple but with guns...call them 90s comics distilled down into two characters- Deadpool and Cable are back, baby! That's right, The Merc with the Mouth and the Soldier with the Scowl are together again in this all-new series! When Cable gets a vision of a terrible future set off by the death of one man, he knows he must protect him no matter what! I'll get you three guesses who's been hired to kill that guy. Go on, guess. The fan favorite team of Fabian Nicieza & Reilly Brown have reunited to get the gang back together- and it feels so good!

Owen Says: These two always go well together and this limited 3 issue series should go well with the many new Deadpool releases coming up.

JAMES BOND #3

Bond is on his way to break up a small, agile drug-trafficking operation in Berlin. The truth about what he's walking into is bigger, scarier and much more lethal. Berlin is about to catch fire, and James Bond is trapped inside. Dynamite Entertainment proudly continues the "VARGR" storyline, the debut chapter of the ongoing James Bond saga as written by industry legend Warren Ellis and illustrated by Jason Masters!

Owen Says: One of my personal favourites at the moment - Great art from Masters and Ellis' mastery of near future technology fits perfectly with Bond.

LOBSTER JOHNSON GLASS MANTIS ONE SHOT

Murder interrupts the opening of a new exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum. Lobster Johnson investigates to find out what makes a blown-glass sculpture worth killing for.

Owen says: Perfect for any Hellboy fan and will tide you over until the Hellboy Winter special arriving next month

MY LITTLE PONY A CANTERLOT WEDDING TP

The celebrated animated series comes to bookshelves! Revisit the habitants of Equestria and learn about the magic that friendship brings in this adaptation of the television series. This volume adapts the season two finale-event, "A Canterlot Wedding," parts 1 and 2.

Owen says: It seems we can't order enough MLP for the store! We also have a limited restock of the MLP Holiday Special which has been galloping off the shelves (sorry).
